A new band out of Rollins College, ADMIN, brought the heat during Halloweekend. Fans all around Orlando gathered in their Halloween costumes at a house party to participate in the holiday festivities. ADMIN played a killer show featuring covers of their favorite songs including, “Everlong,” by The Foo Fighters, “R U Mine?” by The Arctic Monkeys, and “Hail to the King” by Avenged Sevenfold. Members Andrew Rueda, Matt Dys, Jakob Zhang, Myles Long, and Ford Manley decided to take on the task of building a stage on their own, despite not having any experience in making one before. With great teamwork, and motivation from the Home Depot theme song, they built 4 separate sections of the stage and combined them together.
The crowd was locked into ADMIN’s musical skills and stage presence. Everyone was ecstatic about the songs being played and the band’s energy was exhilarating. The vibes were immaculate, and everyone was living in the moment; it definitely was a night to remember.
ADMIN’s members originally met each other through Rollins College and have been close friends ever since. Their sound is inspired by each member’s individual music tastes. Their love for rock music is deeply rooted within the band since they all grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and Alice In Chains. Andrew met Matt freshman year as music majors and clicked instantly due to their love of 1970s rock music. Matt met Myles at Rollins’ fraternity TKE and knew Jakob from being involved in musical ensembles. They then found Ford at an on-campus band rehearsal and instantly knew that they found the right guy for the job since he played the drums with such passion and emotion. ADMIN’s high energy performances are a must-watch. They truly enjoy connecting people with their sound and hope to spread positivity.
ADMIN is currently crafting an EP and will be releasing their two songs “I Want You,” and “Breakdown” soon. Missed your chance to hear the band? ADMIN will be performing their personally curated covers again on November 18th at 471 Holt Avenue. There will be a $5 cover and a cash bar.
