WPRK 91.5 FM, Rollins College’s long-standing student-run radio station, has always been a space for creativity, and this semester, Jeffrey Glatting, a Rollins senior, is adding his unique voice to the mix. His weekly radio show airs every Wednesday from 7-9 p.m., offering an eclectic blend of musical genres, guest appearances, and interviews. “The vibe varies week to week,” Jeffrey explains. “It’s whatever I’m feeling that week.”
For over 70 years, WPRK has been at the heart of student culture on campus, giving Rollins students a platform to broadcast their voices and passions. When Jeffrey was offered the opportunity to host a radio show, he saw it as an exciting way to join this legacy. “I initially applied for a job at WPRK,” he shared, “but when that didn’t work out, they offered me a show, and I thought, ‘Why not?’ It’s been a great way to express myself and connect with the community.”
Jeffrey’s show isn’t just about music; it’s a reflection of what WPRK stands for—freedom and community. “What’s special about being on air at WPRK is how connected it is to the Rollins community,” Jeffrey said. “A lot of students, including my friend Jade, who hosts a show right before mine, are involved, and we always have the freedom to play or talk about whatever we want.”
WPRK’s history of student involvement continues to thrive as students like Jeffrey take to the airwaves. Beyond just music, WPRK offers students a platform for interviews, discussions, and self-expression. “I plan to bring more guests on air to promote their projects,” Jeffrey said. “It’s not just about me; WPRK is a place where we can all elevate each other’s work.”
Looking forward, Jeffrey has big dreams both for his radio show and his music career. “I want to continue making music, collaborate with other artists, and hopefully tour
places like Italy or Japan,” he shared. In the meantime, WPRK remains his creative hub, allowing him to hone his skills in broadcasting and connect with listeners in real time.
