Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress. In this episode we welcome Dr. Joel Filmore, as he shares his incredible story of resilience from prisoner to professor. Dr. Filmore is the founder, co-owner, and Director of Clinical Services for Lighthouse Professional Counseling Center. He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) as well as a Licensed Associate Sex Offender Provider (LASOP). He is a nationally known professional counselor, educator, researcher, author, trainer, and public speaker. He is also currently an Assistant Professor and Mental Health Counseling Program Coordinator at Springfield College in Milwaukee, WI.
